Rhode Islands Summer Guide For Fun

I’ve been thinking about all the fun things RI has to offer this summer.  Trying to schedule time to go to some of these events has become a daunting task.  There are so many fairs, festivals, restaurants, beaches, parades, concerts, waterfires, parks etc to choose from.  For anyone thinking of visiting our fair state, and for those natives looking for a little fun I hope you get some good ideas from my post.

June 2 Great Chowder Cook-off Newport, RI.   June 9 Gaspee Days parade Warwick, RI. & Waterfire Providence, RI.  June 16-17 RI National Guard Open House & Air Show Quonset Point North Kingstown, RI.  June 23-July 1 The America’s Cup World Series Races Newport, RI

July 5-9 Tall Ships- Newport, RI.   July 20-22 South County Hot Air Balloon Festival, South Kingstown, RI.  July 21-21 Warren Quahog Festival Warren, RI.   July 28-29 Newport Folk Festival,

 Aug 3-5 Newport Jazz Festival,  Aug 3-5 Charlestown Seafood Festival Charlestown, RI.  

These are just some of the events our lovely state has to offer.  There’s also the South County & Newport Beaches, Roger Williams Zoo, Newport Mansions, Providence Waterfires, the East Bay Bicycle Path for riding, and our National Parks for hiking and camping.

You don’t have to travel far to find great family friendly entertainment.  For those of you visiting out state I hope you enjoy your visit.  For us native Rhode Islanders let’s get out and enjoy our beautiful state!
